Promise of Wizard

Akira Masaki is pulled from modern Japan into a world where magic is real and a hostile moon called the Great Calamity tries to crush the land once a year. She is named the new Sage and must gather twenty one wizards from five countries and keep them united. The previous battle went badly and many veterans died, so fear and distrust hang over the manor where the survivors regroup. Central officials try to claim the Sage and the wizards for their own plans, which forces Akira to choose allies and set boundaries. She helps stabilize the team, studies contracts and mana rules, and travels to capitals to calm unrest. At the manor she saves the scholar Faust from turning to stone by tapping the Sage’s power. Rumors in the capital lead to an investigation that exposes the reason the Calamity has grown stronger and a figure called Nova behind grim rituals. With another descent approaching, Akira pushes rival groups to train together and prepares the wizards to face the next impact.
