Snowball Earth

Tetsuo Yabusame grows up unable to connect with people, but he forms a bond with Yukio, a giant robot built to fight the galactic monsters attacking Earth. Together they become symbols of humanity’s resistance, with Tetsuo piloting beside the only friend who understands him. The final battle against the monster swarm goes wrong. Yukio is destroyed, and Tetsuo survives by escaping in a pod that drifts away from the fight. When he wakes after years in cold sleep, he expects to return to the world he helped protect. Instead, the pod falls back to a frozen Earth where cities are buried under ice and the war seems to have ended without humanity standing above the ruins.

Tetsuo moves through the white wasteland looking for signs of people, Yukio, and the truth of what happened after the last battle. The planet has become Snowball Earth, and survival now depends on reading broken machines, frozen shelters, and monster traces left under the ice. The old victory he imagined does not exist. Humanity is scattered or hidden, and the monsters have not vanished in any clean way. Tetsuo has to act without the partner who once gave him courage, using what he remembers from their battles to stay alive in a world that no longer welcomes him. Every discovery turns the past into a problem he must solve, from why Earth froze to whether Yukio’s loss was final. His goal becomes simple but heavy. Find a friend, find the survivors, and learn whether the boy who could only speak through a robot can still protect anyone after waking up alone.
