Go For It, Nakamura-kun!!

Okuto Nakamura starts high school with one secret shaping almost every day. He has fallen for Aiki Hirose, a classmate he has barely spoken to, and every chance to approach him becomes too large in Nakamura’s head before it can become a normal conversation. He studies Hirose from across the room, imagines perfect introductions, and then loses his nerve when the real moment arrives. Class activities, hallway meetings, and small accidents keep putting them near each other, but Nakamura turns each opening into a private crisis. His interest in octopuses, his awkward timing, and his habit of overthinking make him seem stranger than he means to be. Hirose notices him slowly, not through a clean confession, but through repeated moments where Nakamura fails, recovers, and tries again.

The people around them keep pulling the situation out of Nakamura’s control. Friends, teachers, and classmates interrupt plans he spent too long building in silence. Hirose’s openness makes Nakamura hopeful, but it also makes him panic because kindness is not the same as returned feelings. Nakamura tries joining conversations, helping at school, and creating reasons to stand beside him without exposing the truth too quickly. Each attempt teaches him that watching from a distance is safer but leaves him with nothing real. Hirose begins treating him less like a strange classmate and more like someone he can speak to, and that small shift matters more than any fantasy Nakamura invented. The story follows Nakamura as he moves from hidden admiration toward an actual friendship, learning that the only way to reach Hirose is not through a perfect romantic scene, but through clumsy, ordinary contact that he chooses to risk again and again.
