Angel Beats!

Yuzuru Otonashi wakes up in a strange school with no memory of how he died. A girl named Yuri pulls him into a group of students who refuse to accept the rules of this place, because everyone here already died with something unresolved. Their target is the student council president, Kanade Tachibana, whom they call Angel, since she can stop them with abilities that do not feel human. Otonashi tries to understand what this world is, why people keep fighting, and what Angel actually wants. As he gets closer to both sides, he starts uncovering what each student is running from, and why moving on is so hard when your last moments were stolen from you.
