Recommendations from Iwamoto-Senpai

In 1910s Japan, Kodo Iwamoto is a third-year student at a military school that studies the paranormal. Acting under army orders, he travels to places where strange incidents have been reported and searches for young people with abilities no one understands. One assignment takes him to a town where black snow is said to fall. There he meets a boy who believes his unusual power is an illness. Iwamoto recognizes it as something else, shows him a possible purpose for it, and offers a recommendation to the school. That encounter becomes the pattern for a journey across the country. Each mission confronts Iwamoto with a new mystery and another isolated boy shaped by a dangerous gift. By recruiting them, he gathers people like himself while uncovering the supernatural forces hidden beneath a rapidly changing era.
