Genshiken OVA

With the start of a new academic year, clubs across campus launch their recruiting drives for new members, and Genshiken, the Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, is no exception. Attracting even a couple of newcomers seems like an impossible task, a dreaded chore that usually ends with the same familiar faces, but this time the club manages to land a new member: Chika Ogiue, a girl pushed onto them from the Manga Club.

Ogiue immediately introduces herself with the words "I'm Ogiue, and I hate otaku!" The declaration instantly raises the tension in the clubroom, since the members, who are otaku through and through, can hardly believe their ears, and it promises that the coming year will be full of unexpected turns.

With such a prickly and striking personality as Ogiue around, there will certainly be no time to be bored, and life in Genshiken promises to become even more eventful. This OVA continues the story of the university otaku club and its members, from Sasahara and Madarame to Saki Kasukabe and Kousaka, as a new face shakes up their routine.
