This Monster Wants to Eat Me

Hinako Yaotose lives alone in a small seaside town, going through the motions after losing her family and feeling no reason to stay alive. When a creature attacks her, a transfer student named Shiori Oumi pulls her out of the water and calmly makes an offer: Hinako’s flesh draws monsters, so Shiori will guard her until she reaches her sweetest point, then eat her herself. Hinako accepts, treating the promise as a clean ending. Shiori insists she wants Hinako at her happiest, not broken, and that rule forces Hinako to stay in the world a little longer. Shiori moves closer, keeping other yokai away while pushing Hinako to smile more, and Hinako’s classmate Miko Yashiro refuses to trust the newcomer. Each new encounter tests the bargain, turning school days into a watchful routine of ambushes, secrets, and small moments where Hinako starts to want things again. The closer she gets to Shiori, the more she suspects the hunger is hiding something else.
