A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!

Haruaki Abe returns to teaching after a bad experience at a human school left him frightened and unsure of himself. He accepts a new position at Hyakki Academy, hoping for a clean start, but the school is filled entirely with youkai. His students smell weakness immediately. They prank him, use supernatural powers during lessons, ignore normal classroom order, and turn his fear into the easiest target in the room. Haruaki teaches Japanese and becomes homeroom teacher for Class 2-3, but every task feels like survival. A visit to a shut in zashiki warashi, classroom introductions, dorm trouble, and student discipline all show him that ordinary teaching methods do not work when the class includes spirits, monsters, and children with powers stronger than his nerve.

The longer Haruaki stays, the less the academy looks like a punishment. Sano, Mamekichi, Tamao, and the other students keep causing trouble, yet their problems are still student problems under the youkai surface. Some hide loneliness, family pressure, old grudges, or fear of being misunderstood. Haruaki also learns that he has exorcism power connected to Abe no Seimei, which makes him more important to the school than he first realizes. That power scares him as much as the students do, because it turns him from a victim of pranks into someone who can hurt the very children he is supposed to guide. Each incident forces him to stand his ground a little longer before crying, fainting, or running away. He does not become fearless. He becomes a teacher who keeps coming back, and that is enough for the class to start treating him as part of Hyakki Academy rather than the next human they can chase out.
