Hitoyoshi Yokoya lives alone and expects his days to stay simple until a young woman in a maid uniform appears at his door asking for work. She has no references, no domestic skill, and no clear plan, but she admits that she was raised as an assassin and wants to leave that life behind. Hitoyoshi is confused and refuses at first, then changes his mind after she saves him from a fatal accident with reflexes no normal applicant should have. He lets her stay, gives her the name Yuki, and begins teaching her the basics of ordinary living. Cooking, cleaning, shopping, greetings, and eating together become unfamiliar lessons for someone who only knew orders and killing.

Yuki’s new life is unstable because the past does not vanish with a maid uniform. She struggles with simple housework, breaks routines by reacting like a weapon, and has to learn what kindness means when nobody is commanding her. Hitoyoshi’s younger sister Riko accepts her quickly and helps turn the house into something closer to family. A stray dog they name Agemochitaro gives Yuki another reason to care for something without being told. Threats from her former world still reach her, including Grace, an assassin who appears under another identity and tests whether Yuki can really live differently. Hitoyoshi also carries his own wounds from rejection and loneliness, so their home becomes a place where both learn to trust slowly. Yuki wants to become more than a tool, and Hitoyoshi wants to protect the quiet life forming around them, even when danger keeps finding the door.
