Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror

Kirie Goshima lives in Kurouzu cho, a quiet coastal town that begins changing after her boyfriend Shuichi Saito notices spirals appearing everywhere. At first the signs look small. Shuichi’s father becomes obsessed with spiral shapes, collecting objects and forcing his body toward impossible twists. Smoke from cremations curls into the sky and refuses to disperse. Hair, pottery, scars, shells, and insects start carrying the same pattern, and people who stare too long either worship it or fear it. Shuichi begs Kirie to leave with him, but each new incident traps them deeper in the town. Kirie’s family is pulled in through her father’s pottery kiln, and classmates begin changing in ways that make the curse impossible to treat as rumor.

The spiral spreads from personal obsession into the town itself. Girls’ hair turns into living coils that feed on attention. Students mutate into snails. A lighthouse forces people to walk in circles until they burn. Storms, whirlwinds, and warped streets make escape harder, while the remaining houses twist into a growing maze. Kirie and Shuichi keep trying to understand the pattern, but the curse does not behave like an enemy with a motive. It reshapes bodies, buildings, time, and memory until Kurouzu cho becomes a spiral system feeding on everyone inside it. When the town collapses into the center, they descend beneath it and find an ancient structure that has been waiting below all along. The truth gives them no way out. The spiral is not only attacking the town. It is the town’s fate, repeating through destruction and return.
