Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister

Uryu Kamihate has one focus that keeps him steady: he wants to get into Kyoto University’s medical school and become a doctor, treating his future like a problem he can solve through discipline. His life has never been simple, and after growing up in an orphanage he is taken in by the chief priest of Amagami Shrine, which is supposed to be a chance to study in peace. Instead, Uryu walks into a demand that flips his plans upside down. To stay at the shrine, he is told he must marry one of the priest’s three granddaughters, Yae, Yuna, or Asahi, and help carry the shrine’s legacy forward. Uryu does not believe in destiny, and he does not want romance complicating his goals, so his first instinct is to reject the whole idea and escape. The problem is that living under the same roof makes escape harder than it sounds. Each sister has her own personality and her own reasons for caring about the shrine, and Uryu quickly learns that the place is not just a pretty home, it is a struggling institution with financial problems and pressure from the outside. His «temporary» stay turns into daily involvement, from chores and local events to awkward misunderstandings that keep feeding the marriage rumor whether he likes it or not. Uryu keeps trying to force the situation back into logic, but the shrine runs on emotion and tradition, and he can not avoid forming bonds with the sisters as they rely on him more. The romance angle grows out of friction, shared responsibility, and the simple fact that you can not live someone’s life for them and remain a stranger.
