Taiki Inomata trains before sunrise in the gym at Eimei, hoping to become strong enough to reach nationals in badminton. Every morning he sees Chinatsu Kano, an older basketball player whose discipline makes him admire her before he knows how to speak to her properly. Their distance changes when Chinatsu’s parents leave Japan and she moves into Taiki’s house through a family connection. Taiki has to live beside the person he likes while hiding the arrangement at school and keeping his focus on practice. Shared breakfasts, late returns from training, study sessions, and small conversations turn admiration into something harder to ignore. Chinatsu keeps chasing her own place on the court, and Taiki tries to support her without making his feelings a burden.

The school year keeps pushing them through matches, injuries, festivals, and rumors. Taiki studies footwork, stamina, and shot choice while facing stronger players who show how far he still has to go. Chinatsu carries pressure from her team, her future, and the fact that she is living in someone else’s home. Hina Chono, Taiki’s childhood friend, begins to realize her own feelings and steps into a place Taiki was too distracted to notice. Kyo watches from the side and calls out what others avoid saying. The house secret creates near misses, but the harder problem is not exposure. It is the way each person keeps choosing silence to protect someone else. Taiki learns that chasing Chinatsu cannot replace chasing his own results. Chinatsu learns that accepting support does not weaken her goal. Hina’s confession forces Taiki to stop drifting and decide what his heart has already been moving toward.
