Gawain Nanaumi enters the Camelot Cup as part of the Japan school team and faces players from the United Kingdom and the United States who have trained under stronger systems and harsher competition. The tournament turns his simple love of long drives into a real test of control. He can strike the ball farther than almost anyone, but the course punishes power used without judgment. Lancelot joins the team after forcing his way into the lineup through putting skill, while Todoin, Liebel, Yumiko, and the others carry their own pressure into the matches. The overseas players do not treat Japan as equals at first, and each round shows why talent alone cannot win against people who understand wind, slopes, nerves, and match play.

The strongest wall comes from Tristan Liones, whose calm play and complete command of distance make him look unreachable. Gawain’s Rising Impact gives him a weapon from the tee, and Lancelot’s Shining Road lets him read putts with precision, but both of them meet situations where their gifts stop being enough.
