Pseudo Harem

Eiji Kitahama joins the drama club with a childish wish to be surrounded by different kinds of girls like the stories he reads. Rin Nanakura, a younger student in the same club, develops feelings for him and turns that wish into an acting exercise. Instead of introducing other girls, she performs them herself. Around Eiji she switches between a cool girl, a teasing girl, a spoiled girl, a shy girl, and other roles, using each persona to test his reactions and stay close to him. Eiji treats the performances as playful practice and keeps asking for more, not always seeing how much of Rin’s real affection is hiding behind the act. Their club days become a routine of short scenes, improvised lines, rehearsals, walks home, and conversations where pretending gives Rin a way to say things she cannot say plainly.

As time passes, the act becomes harder to separate from the truth. Rin keeps improving as a performer, but the person she most wants to reach is still Eiji himself. Eiji enjoys the different versions of her, yet slowly begins noticing the girl behind them. Other students, club activities, school trips, and graduation plans add pressure because the stage they used for jokes cannot last forever. Rin tries to confess through roles, then retreats when the words feel too direct. Eiji responds with his own awkward honesty, often missing the timing but not the feeling. Their bond grows through repeated small moments rather than one dramatic event. By the time their school days move toward an end, the pretend harem has done what Rin hoped and feared. It gave her a place beside Eiji, then forced both of them to face whether the affection between them belongs to a character or to the two people who kept returning to the same scene.
