A Nobody's Way Up to an Exploration Hero

Kaito Takagi is a high school student who works as a low ranked explorer in the dungeons that have appeared across Japan. He avoids risk and stays on the first floor, hunting weak slimes for small cash while hiding the job from Haruka Katsuragi, his childhood friend who worries about him. His routine changes after he defeats his thousandth slime and receives a rare servant card from a golden slime. The card summons Sylphy, a small valkyrie with lightning magic and a barrier skill. Kaito suddenly has the means to go deeper, but he is still inexperienced, frightened, and used to thinking of himself as someone who does not stand out.

With Sylphy beside him, Kaito starts clearing floors that once seemed impossible. He studies drops, crystals, monster habits, and the cost of keeping a summoned servant active. A silver slime later gives him another card, bringing Luceria, a demon whose firepower and blunt attitude clash with Sylphy’s loyalty. Kaito’s progress draws him toward other explorers, including Airi Jinguji and her party, and forces him to join fights where he cannot simply farm safely and leave. Haruka’s concern becomes harder to avoid as the dungeon starts shaping his school life as much as his part time work. Each run teaches Kaito how much fear still controls him, but also gives him proof that steady preparation can move him past the role of a background nobody. His goal becomes less about rare cards and more about learning how to stand in front of danger with allies who trust him.
