Clay enters the dungeon to search for her adoptive father, a skilled thief who disappeared there three years earlier. She pushes farther than most adventurers survive, passing traps and monsters through careful movement rather than brute force. Deep inside, she discovers that the dungeon is not a wild ruin. It is operated from behind the scenes by Belle, a powerful girl who controls floors, monsters, treasure, repairs, and the rules that shape every expedition. After fighting Belle and losing, Clay is offered a job instead of death. She accepts because working inside the dungeon may give her a better chance of learning what happened to her father.

Clay’s new work changes how she sees the place she once treated only as a target. She learns how treasure chests are stocked, how monsters are hired and trained, how damaged rooms are rebuilt, and how adventurers are guided into danger without the whole system collapsing. Belle explains rules that keep the dungeon profitable and stable, while Clay handles practical tasks that require a thief’s eye and a fighter’s nerve. She meets employees who look like enemies from the outside but work shifts, report problems, and argue over supplies like any staff. New monsters are recruited, unruly intruders are dealt with, and outside forces try to challenge Belle’s control. Clay keeps searching for traces of her father through old records, hidden paths, and the memories of those who knew the dungeon before Belle. The more she learns, the clearer it becomes that his disappearance is tied to the management of the dungeon itself, not only to a failed adventure. Her goal remains the same, but the path now runs through payroll, repairs, secrets, and the strange daily labor that keeps the dungeon alive.
