My Deer Friend Nokotan

Torako Koshi has built a clean image at Hino Minami High School to bury her past as a delinquent. She acts polite, studies hard, serves as a model student, and keeps every trace of her old life hidden. On the way to school, she finds a strange girl with antlers hanging from power lines and helps her down. The girl, Noko Shikanoko, transfers into Torako’s class almost immediately and claims she can smell Torako’s former delinquent life. From that day, Torako’s routine starts falling apart. Noko treats deer crackers like treasure, removes her antlers, breaks normal rules without noticing, and drags Torako into situations that no one else seems to question. Torako becomes the only person who reacts as if any of this is strange, which makes her look more suspicious than the deer girl causing the trouble.

Noko creates the Deer Club and pulls Torako in as its responsible face. The club room becomes a place for feeding deer, solving odd problems, and surviving whatever Noko brings next. Torako’s younger sister Anko joins with an obsessive attachment to her, while Bashame wants to live through rice and deer related training. Student council members try to investigate the club, but their own weaknesses keep turning the confrontations into disasters. Teachers, classmates, hunters, animals, and visitors from the mysterious Deer Hole add more pressure to Torako’s attempt to stay normal. Each day threatens to expose the image she worked so hard to maintain, yet the same chaos gives her real friends who accept the person behind the act. By the end, Torako is still trying to control Noko, but her school life has already changed into something she can neither explain nor leave behind.
