White Snake: Afloat

Xiaobai searches for Xu Xian, the reincarnation of Axuan, five hundred years after their earlier separation. She reaches Lin’an with Xiaoqing and finds him at the Broken Bridge, where the old bond begins again without all of his memories in place. Xu Xian has become a skilled doctor, and Xiaobai hides among humans while trying to stay close to him without exposing what she is. Their life grows through small meetings, street errands, medical work, and the slow return of trust. Xiaoqing watches the relationship with caution because happiness built between a human and a snake spirit has already cost them too much. Xu Xian falls for Xiaobai again, and their marriage gives her the ordinary life she wanted, but it also makes them easier to target.

Fahai enters as the force that refuses to let humans and demons live together. He sees Xiaobai not as a wife or a person, but as a danger that must be sealed away. His pursuit turns domestic happiness into flight, confrontation, and sacrifice. Xiaobai and Xiaoqing fight to protect the life they built in Lin’an, while Xu Xian is forced to choose whether love means trusting what he has seen or accepting the fear others place in front of him. The conflict grows around the West Lake and the Leifeng Pagoda, where Fahai’s conviction becomes a prison for Xiaobai. Xu Xian’s devotion is tested as the battle drains him, and Xiaoqing is left carrying rage and grief when the separation becomes unavoidable. The story follows a reunion that briefly becomes a home before law, faith, and fear tear it apart again.
