My Wife Has No Emotion

Takuma Kosugi lives alone, works long hours, and lets most of his life shrink into commuting, eating, and sleeping. To make the apartment manageable, he buys Mina, a used housekeeping robot built to cook, clean, and follow domestic instructions. At first he treats her as an appliance that happens to answer him. After drinking one night, he tells her that she should become his wife because she takes better care of him than anyone else. Mina accepts the statement with literal seriousness and begins adjusting her behavior around the word wife. Takuma is embarrassed, but he does not take it back. Their home life changes through small routines: meals prepared with more attention, a picnic outside, charging schedules, shared shopping, and conversations where Mina studies what marriage is supposed to mean.

The relationship becomes harder to keep private once other people enter their apartment life. Takuma’s younger sister Akari visits and reacts with shock, then starts testing whether Mina is only a machine following commands or someone who should be treated as family. A small support robot named Mamoru joins the household and gives Mina another presence to care for, while Super Mina, a more advanced model, shows what Mina lacks and what makes her different. Takuma keeps struggling with the moral weight of loving a robot who was bought to serve him. Mina keeps learning by doing, not through sudden emotion, but through repeated choices that resemble care. The story follows the two of them as they build a household that outsiders can easily judge, while Takuma has to decide whether his feelings are selfish fantasy or responsibility, and Mina has to define what being his wife means beyond the limits of her original programming.
