Sengoku Youko

In a war torn era where humans and katawara live close enough to hurt each other, Tama chooses a path that sounds impossible: she wants peace, and she believes humans and katawara can stop treating coexistence like a constant feud. Her traveling companion is her adoptive brother Jinka, who has the opposite instinct and carries a deep hatred toward humans that turns every meeting into a potential fight. They move from place to place using a form of spirit transformation that gives them the power to confront threats that ordinary people cannot handle, including katawara hunters and violent warlords who exploit fear for control. Their travels pull in Shinsuke Hyoudou, a swordsman whose cowardice is obvious even to himself, yet he refuses to give up on the idea of becoming strong enough to protect someone. What begins as a rough trio trying to survive the road becomes a confrontation with something more organized and cruel. They uncover monks who conduct experiments on spiritually gifted people, pushing them toward becoming hybrids and treating human lives like raw material. When the group rescues a victim of those experiments, the conflict stops being only about individual enemies and becomes about a system built on abuse. Tama keeps pushing for a future where trust is possible, Jinka keeps testing the limits of his rage, and Shinsuke keeps forcing himself forward, because the next battle is never just a battle. It is a step toward deciding what kind of world should remain when the fighting finally ends.
