Mizuho Nishino turns seventeen with plans for a normal year with her four closest friends, Kizuki, Shin, Airu, and Shugo, all boys she has known since childhood. Then a sudden crisis shuts down school life, cancels events, and traps everyone in the same small circle of texts and late night calls. On the day Mizuho is trying to hold the group together, Kizuki confesses and the balance cracks. Each friend is hiding a different kind of affection, and Mizuho is forced to ask what she actually wants, not what keeps things peaceful. The story keeps cutting between those tense school days and an older Mizuho looking back, showing how one season of half said feelings can echo for years. On her birthday, the confessions do not stop at one boy, and Mizuho has to keep showing up for friends who are also falling apart. She starts writing and drawing again as a way to breathe, but the work keeps turning into the same question, who is she allowed to choose, and what does she lose by choosing at all?
