Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Alternative Architecture

Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Alternative Architecture is the TV version of Ghost in the Shell: Arise, the prequel that depicts the years before the formation of Public Security Section 9. Set in a future Japan where cybernetic bodies and cyberbrains are commonplace, it follows Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body cyborg and brilliant hacker, as she becomes entangled in military conspiracies and cyber crimes and begins assembling the team that will one day serve under Daisuke Aramaki, including Batou, Togusa, Ishikawa, Saito, Paz and Borma.

The first eight episodes are an edited version of the four Arise films, while the last two feature a brand-new arc called Pyrophoric Cult. This story revisits the Fire Starter virus encountered earlier in the series and introduces a new character, Pyromania. The arc also sets up ties to the film that followed, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie, bridging the Arise continuity with the next chapter of Kusanagi's story.
