Wind Breaker

Haruka Sakura has spent his whole life being judged by his appearance and pushed into the role of a delinquent, so he decides the only way forward is to become undeniably strong. He transfers to Furin High with one goal: fight his way to the top and prove he belongs above everyone else. The school is famous for violence, which sounds perfect to Sakura, until he realizes the toughest students are not terrorizing the neighborhood, they are defending it. Furin is effectively run by Bofurin, a group that patrols the streets of Makochi and treats protecting the town as their code. That flips Sakuras worldview. He came looking for a ladder made of fists, and instead he finds a community built around responsibility, loyalty, and the kind of strength that shows up when someone weaker is in trouble. Sakura is still stubborn and socially blunt, and he does not suddenly turn into a team player, but he cannot ignore what he sees: the fights here have meaning beyond ego. As he is pulled into Bofurins orbit, he meets classmates and leaders who challenge him in ways brute force cannot, including the charismatic head of Bofurin, Hajime Umemiya. Rival groups, personal grudges, and street-level crises keep testing him, and each clash forces him to decide what kind of strongest he actually wants to be. The story is built on that tension: Sakura chasing the top while slowly realizing that real power in this town is measured by who you protect, not who you crush.
