Kitaro and Medama Oyaji step into the ruins of a forgotten village, and the place hits Medama Oyaji like a wound that never closed. He starts reliving the events that happened there long ago, back when he still looked human and had one clear purpose, find his missing wife. At the same time, a salaryman named Mizuki arrives in the same isolated village under the polite cover of attending a powerful clan leader’s funeral, but he is carrying ambition and a secret mission tied to the clan’s business. The village is controlled by the Ryuga family, a household with money, influence, and a rotten core that has been sealed away from outsiders for generations. As the Ryuga heirs tear at each other over succession, a member of the family is brutally murdered at the local shrine, and that death kicks off a chain of uncanny incidents that feel less like crime and more like a curse waking up. Mizuki and Kitaro’s father do not trust each other, yet they are forced into the same corridor of answers, following bloodstained clues through superstition, closed doors, and people who smile while hiding panic.
