Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga OVA

Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga OVA consists of two bonus episodes bundled with the 19th and 20th volumes of the Ao no Exorcist manga. Both are adapted from the official spin-off novels rather than from the manga itself and expand on supporting characters introduced during the Kyoto arc.

The first episode is based on the second chapter of the second novel, Home Sweet Home, and turns the spotlight on members of the Myoo Dharani, the Kyoto exorcist sect to which Ryuuji Suguro, Renzou Shima and Konekomaru Miwa belong, including Mamushi Houjou and Juzo Shima.

The second episode adapts the title chapter of the novel Ao no Exorcist: Spy Game. It focuses on the easygoing Renzou Shima, whose true allegiances became a major mystery in the story, and shows him being put to the test by Mephisto Pheles. Together, the two episodes offer a closer look at characters who usually stay in the background of Rin Okumura's story.
