Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Bangaichi

Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Bangaichi is a sequel to Zan Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei, the third season of the black comedy based on Kouji Kumeta's manga, released as a set of extra episodes that continue the series in the same format.

Its hero is Nozomu Itoshiki, a high school teacher so profoundly pessimistic that he despairs over absolutely everything and regularly threatens, or attempts, to end his own life. He is surrounded by the eccentric students of his class, each with an extreme quirk of her own, from the relentlessly optimistic Kafuka Fuura, who reinterprets every misfortune in the most positive way possible, to the meticulous Chiri Kitsu, who cannot tolerate anything left unfinished or out of order.

This time, despair follows Nozomu through a zombie invasion of bad ideas, the way people laugh at things they do not understand, the habit of simply going with the flow, and much more. As before, the episodes are packed with satire of Japanese society and pop culture, rapid-fire wordplay, puns and inside jokes, many of them hidden in background text and signs that reward viewers who pause to read them.
