Clannad

Tomoya Okazaki drifts through school until he meets Nagisa Furukawa on the hill. He helps her restart the drama club, draws in Sunohara, Kyou, Ryou, and Kotomi, and finds steady ground at Akio and Sanae’s bakery. Fuko carves starfish and asks everyone to attend her sister Kouko’s wedding even as Fuko lies in a hospital bed. Tomoya reconnects with Kotomi, learns about the plane crash that took her parents, and delivers the long traveled suitcase that reaches her with a promised teddy bear and a letter. Between exams and odd jobs he glimpses a wintry other world with a girl and a junk robot that echoes the script Nagisa writes. On festival day Nagisa steps on stage, breaks down, then stands when Akio shouts that her dream is hers to chase. The play succeeds, and Tomoya confesses to her the next day.
