One Piece: Episode of Luffy - Adventure on Hand Island

The events take place shortly before the story of the feature film One Piece Film Z. Luffy's crew lands on an unusual patch of land called Hand Island because of its unique shape – the island looks like an open human hand. But there is no peace here. From the moment they arrive, the crew notices strange things: the streets are deserted, the shops are empty, and the air is thick with anxiety. It turns out that all the grown men, along with the children, are being forcibly taken away to the Marines, leaving the settlements almost empty.

The questions only multiply when the locals avoid talking directly and hide the truth behind vague hints. Luffy and his crewmates decide to find out what is really going on in this strange place. Exploring the town, which is known as Cannon Town and home to a craftsman father and his child, the heroes run into the cruelty and fear that hang over the island. Some buildings are abandoned, the gardens are overgrown, and terror is written on the faces of the few passersby. As they dig deeper, it becomes clear that the actions of the Marine base and its commodore serve a hidden purpose that ordinary residents are forbidden even to mention. The special also revisits the story of the very first chapter of the manga with new animation.
